One Vision: Working together to strengthen the standard of excellence in eye care.

The International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding the eye care team to ensure a qualified global workforce that provides quality patient care. IJCAHPO was formed by interested organizations from around the world for the development of training programs, the education, and the endorsement of certification of the eye care team.

Goals & Programs

  • Promote the establishment of Allied Ophthalmic Personnel (AOP) training programs
  • Develop and implement global accreditation standards for training programs
  • Support and encourage adoption of international standards for certification
  • Promote education and continuing education resources for training AOP
