Registration Information
Course Selections, Deadlines
JCAHPO and ATPO offer a variety of registration options. Please refer to page 8 of the bulletin for details and fees.
- Be sure to register online to save $25!
- Barcoded tickets will be issued for each course/workshop you plan to attend.
- Early-Bird: Register by August 31and save up to 20%.
- Pre-Registration: Register between September 1 & October 10 to avoid higher onsite registration fees.
- After October 10, changes and new registrations must be done onsite at the Hilton Atlanta Hotel, beginning on Friday, November 7 at 7:00 a.m. No registrations will be accepted from October 11 - November 6!
Tickets will be required for all JCAHPO/ATPO courses, as well as for the ATPO Scientific Session Reception on Saturday. All registrants must pick up their tickets at the JCAHPO/ATPO registration desk prior to attending courses.

Harold A. Stein Lecture Ticket
This year, you must specifically include the Harold A. Stein lecture (course # 01SU1) on your registration form to receive a ticket.
Group Discount Available
Applies to JCAHPO Full Package Only: If more than one person from the same office registers for the Full Package, JCAHPO offers the first registration at the full fee and a $25 discount for each additional Full-Package registration. The name of the person paying the full fee must be written on the Registration Selection form for verification (see page 8 of the bulletin). Discount must be requested when completing the registration form - no retroactive discounts will be granted.
Registration Confirmation
Online registrants will receive a confirmation at the e-mail address listed in their Online Service Center profile. All other registrants will receive a confirmation via USPS mail at the home address listed on the registration form; otherwise, the work address will apply. Carefully review the confirmation when you receive it! If a course is sold out, it will NOT appear on the confirmation. If you have not received your confirmation by October 31, call JCAHPO at (800) 284-3937 or e-mail registrations@jcahpo.org.
Registration Changes, Transfers
Changes and additions to your registration must be received in writing by October 10 via FAX (651) 731-0410, e-mail registrations@jcahpo.org, or mail. If you wish to transfer a complete registration and payment from one person to another, a registration form must be submitted for the new registrant indicating who this person is replacing. Onsite, you must first pick up your tickets before making registration changes at the JCAHPO/ATPO registration desk. Tickets you wish to exchange must be submitted at that time.
Limitations:
- Partial transfer of courses from one registrant to another is not permissible.
- Tickets for sold-out courses may be exchanged up to two hours prior to the start of the course.
- No refunds resulting from a registration change will be issued after the November 2 cancellation deadline.
Pick up Tickets, Badge, Classroom Guide Onsite
Barcoded tickets will be issued for ALL courses to ensure your admission. Pick up your tickets, name badge, and JCAHPO classroom guide onsite at the JCAHPO/ATPO registration desk. Please refer to the classroom guide for meeting room locations.
If you selected the AAO Exhibit Hall Pass, offered at a specially-reduced fee of $75 to JCAHPO and ATPO registrants, please check back here for information on where to pick up your exhibit hall pass! For more information on the AAO Exhibit Hall, visit the AAO site at www.aao.org.
Handouts
Course handouts will be available to registrants on the JCAHPO and ATPO Web sites beginning in October and will be accessible for approximately one month after the meeting. You will not receive a handout when entering a classroom.
To view the handouts you must be logged into the Online Service Center. Once you are logged into the Online Service Center:

Click the gray "View Functions & Handouts button"
You will see a summary page with all of the courses in which you are registered. The links to the handout for each course will be on the right side. If a course does not have a handout link, we've not received a handout from the instructor.
Continuing Education (CE) Credit
JCAHPO Program
CE credits awarded by JCAHPO are listed in the Day-at-a-Glance and Course Schedule by Subject Category in the bulletin. In addition, the Course Descriptions section lists CE credits awarded by the following organizations:
- American Board of Opticianry (ABO)*
- American Orthoptic Council (AOC)**
- California Board of Registered Nursing
- Florida Board of Opticianry*
- Ophthalmic Photographers' Society (OPS)
- National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE)*
* In order to receive ABO/NCLE or Florida Board of Opticianry (FL-CE76) CE credits, a credit request form must be submitted to JCAHPO by December 1, 2008. Forms may be obtained at the JCAHPO/ATPO registration desk, or by contacting the JCAHPO office.
** Attendees seeking AOC continuing education credit are cautioned to consult the AOC Guidelines for Core and Non-Core Credits to determine acceptability for recertification. Additional CE credits are pending.

ATPO Program
Please refer to the bulletin for information on CE credits awarded by JCAHPO. Application for CE credit has been submitted to OPS and AOC. Consult www.atpo.org for updates.
JCAHPO Course Tracks
JCAHPO has identified several course tracks during this program. Course tracks include Basic Ophthalmic Assisting, Imaging, Surgical Assisting, and Contact Lenses, just to name a few. Course tracks are coded on the JCAHPO Day-at-a-Glance, pages 21-28 of the bulletin.
Back by popular demand are the sub-specialty sessions! This year's topics include Cataracts, Oculoplastics, AMD, Refractive, Retina, and Practice Management.
Verification of CE Credits Earned
In an ongoing effort to go "green," JCAHPO will post CE credits earned to the Online Service Center approximately 6-8 weeks after the program. No statements will be mailed. It is every registrant's responsibility to check posted credits to ensure they are correct. You must submit correction requests to JCAHPO by January 31, 2009.
Cancellations, Refunds
- Cancellations must be received in writing by October 31, 2008. No refunds will be granted after that, regardless of the reason, unless the conference is cancelled by JCAHPO. A processing fee of $85 will be deducted from all refunds.
- Overpayment received during the registration process will remain on your account and may be applied toward additional course purchases. Remaining balances will be refunded within four weeks after the meeting. Balances may NOT be transferred to other registrants.
- If you become certifiedprior to the meeting, and initially paid the non-certified registration fee, you may request an appropriate refund by November 14, 2008.
