Harold A. Stein Prize
Harold A. Stein, MD, FRCS(C)* Prize for Best Scientific Paper
2011 1st Place recipient, Seema Nasraty, COA, of San Ramon, CA, who received a $1000 prize for her paper entitled, "Evaluation of the Optic Nerve in Glaucoma."
Runner up, Danica Fiaschetti, COA, OSA, of Los Angeles, CA, received a $750 prize for her paper entitled, "Refining the Goals of Oculofacial Rejuvenation with Dynamic Ultrasonography."
All ophthalmic medical personnel are invited to submit an original scientific paper on any ophthalmic topic of their choice (i.e., glaucoma, contact lenses, dry eye, animal eyes, cataracts, macular degeneration, etc.)
Deadline for application is July 2, 2012.
*Harold A. Stein, MD, FRCS(C), was the president of JCAHPO in 1986 and 1987, and is the author of numerous publications, including the ever popular "Ophthalmic Assistant/A Text for Allied & Associated Ophthalmic Personnel" now in its 8th edition. To perpetuate the prize, Dr. Stein is donating to the JCAHPO Education and Research all royalties from specific books which he has authored.
