Course Description: This course reviews the role of the nurse and technician during an ASC Medicare survey. Current surveys involve interviewing of staff to ensure compliance with Medicare regulations. Medicare rules and regulations for the ASC as well as current deficiencies will be reviewed. The goal of the course is to prepare the nurse/technician for the next Medicare survey.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the history of the current Medicare Conditions for Coverage.
2. List 3 deficiencies that have been recently cited during a Medicare survey of an ambulatory surgery center.
